The Fourth Sunday of Lent
Today's Readings:
Today's Reflection:
This is it. This is what we’re all about. God loves us. God sent his Son. His Son died for us. God wants us to be with Him in Heaven. God wants us to live lives of love in the light. Simple. Short. We complicate it. We sin. We fall short. We turn away. However, just as the Israelites who turned toward the serpent on the staff were healed, so are we offered the chance of healing. The astounding, overwhelming, all-encompassing love of God means that He never, never leaves us. He is always there. We are the ones who turn away. We sin. We fall short. He is always waiting for us to turn to Him, to seek forgiveness. His love remains, no matter what we say or do. God loves us.This love is unconditional, but it does challenge us to live in the light. We are asked to reciprocate God’s love through our own lives, relationships, words, and deeds. As you continue your Lenten journey, challenge yourself to return to the light, return to God. Join us for the sacrament of reconciliation (see below for the schedule). Challenge yourself to live a life of love for others – how can your life, relationships, words and deeds “be clearly seen as done in God?”May your Lenten journey continue to be fruitful and may you more fully enter into the unconditional, saving love of God.
