Wednesday of the Third Week of Lent
Today's Readings
- Deuteronomy 5.1, 5-9
- Psalm 147
- Matthew 5.17-19
Today’s reading and gospel make me glad that, as a Catholic, I have the ability to go to confession and reconcile with the Lord when I mess up. I find it awfully hard to avoid breaking “one of the least of these commandments,” so it’s nice to know that the sacrament of Reconciliation is there when I need it.In addition to the regular Saturday confession times, St. Francis has scheduled two communal penance services during Lent, on 3/16 and 3/26. For all of us who struggle to always obey the commandments, this is a great time to take advantage of those opportunities.
