“Does our law condemn a man before it first hears him and finds out what he is doing?”

Saturday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Today's Readings:

  • Jeremiah 11:18-20
  • Psalm 7:2-3, 9bc-10, 11-12
  • John 7:40-53
Today's Reflection:

Thank God we have a legal system that presumes innocence.  But are we so inclined? The rush to judgment has become a year round sport, especially to politicos. If the person is found not guilty, that item is a tiny aside found on a back page. Boy, that seems so wrong, doesn’t it?
