Do I covet the success of others, neighbors, colleagues? Or do I rejoice over the good fortune of others?
Do I rejoice over the sufferings of my enemies? Or do I pray for and love my enemies?
My ideals of true prosperity set my action priorities each day.
Jesus Christ had NO children of his own, he did NOT live a wealthy lifestyle, and he did NOT live to an old age. For Christians to prosper is to suffer greatly, be rejected, and killed, if you trust in the Lord to be raised up. On the other hand, doom is to gain the whole world and forfeit eternal life. (Luke 9.22-25) Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
